Getting money from Venture Capital

Howdoes IT strart up get money from venture capital?

It would be a little different issue from MIS. However, many of IT specialists want to get money from the investor? Thinking about this issue will helpful for the MBA students who are interested in building up their own IT start-ups.

From my experience(I have been working for 2 years at venture capital firm and 5 years more at other investment firms), many venture capitalists have background such as finance, law, and marketing and purchasing, etc, which is different from tech industry. Even though, the repeating mistake of presentation is too much focus on only technical issue. Explaining my project is how difficult to realize is not good way to persuade the other party. In fact, the investor is much more interest in how to sell the product after the realization of technology. Therefore, the IT start-up company should present the big picture of the company roadmap rather than just explain technological advantage.
