7Habits of Highly Effective Technology Leaders!!

While I was reading this article, I thought my team manager and CIO.
I wanted to forwarded this article to them.
There are some interesting things to compare highly effective IT manager and my department leaders(team manager and CIO).

First, Business technology leaders focus on business models and processes before they focus on technology infrastructure or applications.
Theseday, the more hightech the lower IT cost. So, early IT generation Many people studied IT resource efficieicy.(for example data storage efficiency, transfer speed..)
But now there are few problems for efficiency and we focus on effectiveness for business.
This means It is more important to alignment business and IT technology and IT leaders must understand business needs and business trends.
In the case of my team leader, He thinks that IT Appliances(computer, monitor, printers etc..) are the most important thing to be evaluated IT services performances. That's ridiculous.

Second, Business technology leaders track technology that matters by focusing on the distinction between operational and strategic technology and the chasm between technology concepts, prototypes, and bona fide technology clusters.
I think that CIO should be considering how we can use IT to improveness business performance? and he should introduce the concepts to his subordinates. But his interests is to make or maintain the stable organizations and system. That's sadness.

Third, Business technology leaders identify and proioritize business pain- and approaches to pain relief- as they move toward the creation of business pleasure.
This is good in team leaders doings. They are always ready to listen other team's sounds.
Please give them applause.

Forths, Business technology leaders optimize the value of shared services in centralized and decentralized companies, and they organize around the distinction between operational and strategic technology Technology leaders also champion governance above and below the operational and strategic line.
This is what I don't know. Sometimes they don't seem to know the value of services, sometimes they seem to know the value. But one certain thing is they have no decision standards to value services.

Fifth, Business technology leaders manage computing and communications infrastructure professionally and cost-effectively through negotiated service-level agreements and measurement best practices.
I think my team leaders have professional technical knowledge. So, they have good experience of negotiation to adopt best practices.

Sixth, Business technology leaders communicate often and predictably; leaders communicate good news and bad news in business terms and provide transparent insight into technology initiatives through tools like dashboards.
We have no communication tools to introduce new IT technology which will impact on business.
This make IT department a passive organization. I think IT department in my company should be active organization but we mostly wait for orders from business part. Business technology leader and all IT employee consider what makes us good and active organization.

Seventh, Business technology leaders actively market their roles in the company as well as technology's ongoing contribution to the business through a variety of tools and techniques.
This is best thing which my CIO does. Sometimes I feel he is marketer. He may have more marketting knowledge than technique. After coming into the company, IT's position in compnay is a little increasing.

Finally, the results of comparing is that nobody have every effecitve characters.
But, Effecive IT organization must have all characters. For this, IT department systematically support Business technology leader.
